Mr. James E. Barth and his wife Samantha L. Barth of Selah, WA are pleased to announce the engagement of his daughter Meagan Alicia Barth, also daughter of Debbie Shepherd, to Bryce Mitsuru Takamori. Bryce is the son of Cliff and Melody Takamori of Everett, WA.
Meagan and Bryce share a son Hunter James Takamori together and live in Selah, WA. Meagan is employed by Barth & Associates and works in the Yakima Clinic. Bryce is a construction worker employed by Granite Northwest.
The wedding will be held late this summer.
Together with family and friends, Jon Klinefelter and Julie Carpenter, were married at Fontaine Estates Winery in Naches, on June 8, 2012. Lots of food, fellowship, music and dancing followed, and a wonderful time was had by all.
Jon is the son of Dan and Kim Klinefelter of Yakima and Julie is the daughter of Dale and Marci Carpenter also of Yakima. Jon is a graduate of Eisenhower High School and works as a shift manager at Starbucks.
Julie is a graduate of West Valley High School and received a Masters Degree in Family Studies from Central Washington University in 2009. She works for Community Living as a Support Specialist.
Their wedding party included Robert Klinefelter, brother of groom, officiant; K.C. White as best man, Emily Kirkham, matron of honor, Anita Stotler and Katie Gronowick served as bridesmaids.
Following a honeymoon to the Big Island of Hawaii, they are at home in Yakima.

The bride-to-be graduated from West Valley High School and received Dental Assistant Certificate from Y.V.C.C. She is employed as a Dental Assistant with Dr. Jeffrey Pruiett D.M.D. The groom-to-be graduated from Salem Academy High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Azusa Pacific University. He is currently an owner/operator of an apple orchard in the Lower Yakima Valley.

Jerry and Steph (Harris) Sutton celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on February 8, 2013 by renewing their vows at the bride’s parents home where they were married 30 years ago on February 12, 1983.
The bride wore the same wedding dress she wore 30 years ago, and their children Jason, Jenna, Haley and first grandchild Avery stood up for them. The bride’s brother Steve Harris officiated the ceremony.
Jerry is employed at Bill Harris Used Cars and Steph is a health coach for Take Shape for Life and cares for her mom.
Jerry and Steph have been blessed by the Selah community, church, friends and family. They look forward to many years enjoying their children and grandchildren to come.

David and Betty Barnett were united in marriage on Dec. 26, 1952 in West Newton, IN.
Upon completing a stint in the Army, they moved to Longview, WA where Dave worked with Longview Fibre for 38 years, retiring as a Technical Service Specialist.
They were blessed with two sons, Bruce and Kurt (Terri), four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Dave and Betty have had many enjoyable years with family, friends, church, traveling, camping and fishing.
In 2008, they moved to Yakima, WA to be closer to family.

Delmar and Ellen (Boyd) Pearson, college sweethearts, were married on March 6, 1943 in Phoenix.
After WWII they returned to Yakima. Delmar has Washington’s oldest CPA License, was a Partner of Boyd Olofson and is active in community service. Ellen raised apples, pears on Loran Pearson’s ranch, and 4 children, Karen (Mickey) Taylor of Sun Valley and Yakima, Lori Franklin of Yakima, Ardy (Jerome) Brown of Seattle and Delmar Jr. of Lexington.
They have six grandchildren Tory & Eroyn Franklin, Miles & Zachary Brown, and Alex & Nick Pearson.
They were fortunate to have Karen & Mickey Taylor’s undefeated Triple Crown winner Seattle Slew in the family and his dog Chet. They have traveled the world with their good friends and family.

Matthew is the son of Brent and Valda Longsine of Yakima. Cassandra is the daughter of Kelly Pierson of Everett and Danny Strom of Anacortes.
Matthew is a graduate of Eisenhower High School and the University of Kansas, and is an architectural engineer at WSP Flack and Kurtz in Seattle. Cassandra graduated from Inglemoor High School in Kenmore and Cascadia College. She is employed at OncoGenex Pharmaceuticals as the senior office manager.
Matthew’s wedding party included Adam Leingang as best man and groomsmen were Tyler Dalrymple, and Brian Wolford. Ushers were Brian Pierson and Deacon Burns.
Cassandra’s wedding party included, Angela Leingang as maid-of-honor and bridesmaids were Veronica Baer and Sara Kelly. The groom’s nieces, Darby and Fallon Kelly were flower girls.

Paul and Joyce Matson of Selah will celebrate their 60th Wedding Anniversary on February 24, 2013. Paul Matson and Joyce Bransford were married February 24, 1953, at Long Beach, California. They are both lifelong residents of the Yakima Valley.
Following Paul’s naval service in the early 50s, they returned to the family fruit ranch on Selah Heights where they continue to live and to grow apples and pears.
The couple has six children, Roger (and Deb) Matson of Naches, Beth Matson and Mike Matson of Selah, Janet (and Norm) Brown of Tieton, Dave Matson (deceased) and Jeanne Matson (deceased). They also have seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
To our family and friends and a great many other people who have touched our lives during our fifty years of marriage, we acknowledge and thank you for being a part of our history and certainly a part of our future!
We married on December 29th, 1962 at St. Paul’s Cathedral here in Yakima. We were so thankful to renew our vows on December 22, 2012 with Rev. Monsignor Ecker who married us fifty years ago. That evening, Ken and Maria Martin graciously entertained guests and family at their home.
As part of our history we were blessed with five children; Kelly, Kerry (Gina), Kevin (Teresa), Ken (Maria) and Kimberley. Our son Kelly died at the age of twelve, but remains in all of our hearts forever. We currently have eight precious grandchildren; Chloe, Cameron, Olivia, Carsten, Carlee, Henry, Kelly and Sophia all of Yakima.
We were surprised with a return trip to Hawaii where we had honeymooned a lifetime ago. Kerry Martin and his family were able to spend this time celebrating with us.
We were so fortunate to spend ten days with our entire family at Pronghorn Golf Club near Bend, Oregon over the holidays! On our actual anniversary date the Club provided champagne and a beautiful dinner that was very memorable for all of us.
Bob and Jan have retired from being self-employed for the past thirty five years.
John & Kuniko Tafoya will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary on February 25. John Tafoya and Kuniko Murayama were married February 25, 1958 at the American Consulate in Yokohama, Japan. They have lived in the Yakima area for 42 yeas.

Steve and Linda Johnson were married in Las Vegas on Valentine’s Day and celebrate 20 years of marriage this year.
The Johnsons are both avid motorcyclists who ride their Harleys any chance they get.
Travel is another hobby of the Johnsons who recently visited the Dominican Republic and look forward to touring many other destinations together.
